Transfer Station Operator wanted for immediate hire. Work as part of a team operating the Transfer Station in Middlebury, VT. Must have a CDL (Class “A” preferred), ability to lift 50 lbs., and ability to be fit-tested for a respirator. Also required: ability to operate heavy equipment (backhoe, skid steer loader, forklift), and to drive a box truck and tractor-trailers (in yard only). Must be a team player, able to communicate effectively and cordially with co-workers, customers and the general public. High school diploma or equivalent, with basic reading, communication and math skills, is required. We will consider on-the-job training for the right person.
Work a 40-hr work week: Mon–Fri, 6:45 am – 3:15 pm and Sat, 7:45 am – 12:45 pm (Sun. and one weekday off), with occasional overtime for staff meetings and training.
Starting wage is $12.48/hr., with consideration of increase after 6-month probationary period. We offer excellent benefits, including: paid leave; health, vision and dental insurance; and savings plan.
